Boom, Belgium
Tomorrowland is a world apart. Fairy-tale scenery, the best DJs on the planet, and an incredible atmosphere of unity. Located in Boom, Belgium, the De Schorre site hosts 400,000 people over two weekends.
It's an intense experience, where technology plays a key role: cashless wristband, festival app, and of course, Instagram.
The Connectivity Challenge: Hyper-Density
- The Mainstage: When 50,000 people jump at the same time, the network shakes too. Sending a video at that moment is a major technical challenge.
- Dreamville (Camping): In the morning, everyone wakes up and connects at the same time. The network can slow down.
Technical Analysis: Reinforced Network
Belgium has excellent infrastructure.
- Wi-Fi: There are Wi-Fi zones, but they are often "crowd traps". Reception is poor because everyone crams in there.
- 4G/5G: Belgian operators (Proximus, Telenet) install extra masts. 5G is the only way to get above the digital noise.
The Alolilo Advice: Stay Grouped (Digitally)
- Europe Plan: Belgium is in the EU, so roaming is included for Europeans. But if you come from elsewhere (Switzerland, Canada, Brazil...), the Alolilo Europe eSIM is essential.
- Battery: Filming fireworks drains the battery. Rent a power bank on site or bring your own.
- Location Apps: Use "What3Words" or live WhatsApp location sharing to find your tent or friends.
Live Today, Love Tomorrow, Unite Forever. And stay connected with Alolilo.
